Its one of the main reasons why it is so cool that nypd is going after esports. Because even if you are applying to a game that is not on their priority list, there is still something to learn from watching someone play the game. A lot of the people we see at these events are there because they’re trying to figure out how do they possibly compete at a level that isnt on the priority list.

We tend to congregate at this event because it is a good place for us to get to know each other and share our experience. You can get a feel for what a good player needs to do to compete in a game.

I have to admit that I had no clue what a candidate assessment center was until I read this. So when I saw a picture of one, I was immediately suspicious. But I was pleasantly surprised.
