The question of whether or not to work as a paralegal is almost never asked. I am not a paralegal myself (I have a law degree), but I do have the experience and skills necessary to work as a paralegal. I was asked to provide legal services for my clients as a paralegal, and it is the job that has brought me to where I am today.
I am a nurse, so I can tell you that the job of a paralegal is not all about your legal skills. I don’t feel like I am doing anything more that practicing law. My clients have given me their business and I have been working for them for years, so I have the experience to give them a good paralegal service. I think I can be a good paralegal too.
As a nurse, I am often asked to be the legal counsel of the hospital or clinic I work for. These are my first jobs, so this is a good time to say that I have no prior knowledge of the legal system. I do not have any prior experience with law firms, but I do know when I need to go to court. I was once the legal counsel to a family who were trying to have their child declared a “person under the law” in Michigan.
This is especially true in family court, where parents often go to court to make sure their children are treated appropriately. As a lawyer, I have never had to go to court for my clients, but it never hurts to be aware.
I know a lot of nurses who have gone to work at hospitals and nursing homes. I know my dad has worked in a nursing home. It’s my job to make sure that nursing homes and hospitals are providing quality care and that the staff is well trained.
As for my father, he’s been a nurse for 25 years and is well respected. He has worked at a nursing home, but that was a long time ago and he still carries a lot of patients in his arms. He doesn’t have to do everything, but he is always available to help with a couple of problems. He doesn’t mind his job, he’s always willing to help, and he’s very good at his job.

Well, that’s a mouthful. The last thing I want to do is be a big taskmaster. That would be so exhausting! But I may have some ideas. Maybe I could write down some of my ideas and send them to you? That sounds weird, I know, but I think it would be a lot of fun.
You may be able to write down ideas about what your clients are doing and what they should be doing. That would be a great way to get a feel for their personalities and to get a jump on their day so you can get things done that you might not have time for otherwise.
It’s true that there are lots of nurses who work in the ER and in other medical settings. But even in the medical field, there are jobs that are not only more physically demanding, but also require more mental acuity.
