I’m not sure if it’s a general trend, but I suspect that the way we look at careers has changed a bit in the last few years, and I’m not sure if this is even a trend. I think the way we look at careers has changed because we are more and more used to the way that big name companies operate.
I think it’s interesting that the way that companies are viewed has changed. Some people still look at a career as if it’s a job that is just starting out in life. I think it’s also interesting that the way we look at the way that big, name companies operate has changed.
I think that there’s a lot of truth to this. We no longer think of companies as having “bad” things happen in the course of their operations.
We as consumers have started to think the same as the business world. We think of big companies as having bad things happen in the course of their operations, because as consumers we care about what they do, and we don’t really think that they get it wrong. The problem is that we have different expectations of big corporate business that have not changed. We want the CEO to be a jerk and the board to be a bunch of assholes who are trying to make a buck. Big name companies have different rules in place for their executives then we do. But most of the rules we expect are the same. We expect the CEO to be a jerk, but we don’t expect board members to be assholes.
I get that people have different expectations of the CEO and board members. I’m not so sure that they are the same though. I think there are different expectations of the board members, not the CEO. It seems like there are more expectations of the CEO and less expectations of the board members. One of this week’s articles on the internet is a great example of this. It illustrates that there are expectations of the CEO and board members that are different, but not the same.
In the case of an ex-CEO, one person’s expectations of the CEO and board members may not be the same. For example, a CEO and board member in the same industry may have different expectations for their own company. That’s not always the case though because there are companies who have been around for a long time. Also, CEOs and board members of different companies can have different expectations of their industry and their industry’s expectations.
