The Border Patrol is not a big organization, but it does have a lot of people who are in the profession because they love it. But the field is very competitive and you have to put a lot of time into it to get noticed. If you’re not good with numbers, you have to move on, it is as simple as that. And because it’s a very competitive field, it is very hard to get hired.
At the end of the day, the Border Patrol salary is what it is. It has to pay its people a good wage. But the problem is that the Border Patrol salary is what they make. Most people who are good at it make more than they need to. So if you have to keep working you have to be willing to move on.
